Counseling
Counseling
Catholic Community Services helps people, regardless of their religious beliefs or financial resources, address and cope with the challenges in their lives that are keeping them from truly enjoying life.
Mental Health: Individual, Family & Couples Counseling
Our counselors are trained in a variety of therapeutic approaches and modalities to help you find a path forward that works best for you. We take a strengths-based approach, seeing each person as competent, capable, and resilient rather than defining people by their life circumstances. We help clients recognize the strength within themselves and connect with available resources to face and manage the concerns that brought them to counseling in the first place.
Drug & Alcohol Counseling
Our Drug and Alcohol Program provides counseling and support to individuals who are in the non-acute phase of treatment. We work with our clients to recognize, develop, and utilize their unique personal strengths; draw on their natural support systems; and connect with community resources available to assist them in their recovery. We work from a person-centered, strengths-based perspective and believe in each person’s ability and potential to achieve and sustain sobriety.
Due to the high risk associated with pregnant women who use drugs and/or alcohol, they will be given top priority to receive treatment and educational services.
Problem Gambling
For some people, activities such as visiting a local casino or racetrack, playing the lottery or small games of chance, or attending church bingo can be forms of recreation. For others, gambling can become an addiction. Our counselors will work with you or your loved one to identify the triggers that lead to the compulsion to gamble and develop a plan to overcome the need to participate in this activity.
As part of our Drug & Alcohol services, the Addictions/Problem Gambling service strives to fully implement a Recovery-Oriented System of Care with each client. We help clients recognize, develop, and build on their personal strengths while drawing on their natural support systems.
Tobacco Cessation Services
Catholic Community Services is proud to offer Tobacco Cessation Counseling, a program designed to help individuals overcome nicotine dependence and achieve a healthier, smoke-free life. Our evidence-based approach combines behavioral strategies, mindfulness techniques, and meditation practices to manage cravings, reduce stress, and support your journey.
While we do not provide medications directly, we can connect you with trusted providers or recommend consulting your primary care physician for additional medical support. Whether you’re ready to quit or just exploring your options, our compassionate counselors are here to guide you every step of the way.
Opioid Information
Pennsylvanians are impacted by the epidemic of prescription opioid and heroin overdoses across the state, from large cities to rural areas. Catholic Community Services employs a team effort to stop the disease from spreading, help those in need, and get Pennsylvanians into treatment.
